Nursery

Children from the age of two to five years old attend the Nursery at Holly Road, Retford.

They may attend for morning or afternoon sessions, or any regular combination throughout the week for their or their parents' needs.

It is not a play school but a full teaching nursery where small classes are held by individual teachers working in a kind and friendly way.

The children thus learn at an early age to accept discipline and to relate to other children and adults in a polite courteous and friendly manner.

Through a combination of structured learning and constructive play they receive a firm foundation in basic English and Mathematical skills as well as Science, Art, Craft, Music, Physical Education and other general subjects. The Maths Scheme used is: White Rose Maths and the Phonics Scheme is: Little Wandle.

The Nursery has had several very successful Ofsted Inspections where it was found to be fully proficient in all of the desirable outcomes. All children complete the Foundation Stage before they are five years old.
